These terms apply when you use Spark Summaries, made by Cloudshift. Using the app means you accept them.
Spark Summaries provides original summaries of nonfiction books, written and narrated by us. The summaries are our own work — they are not the books themselves, are not authorised by or affiliated with the authors or publishers, and are not a substitute for reading the original. Book titles and author names are used only to identify the work being summarised.
You need an account to save progress and to use a subscription. Keep your sign-in details to yourself — you are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it.
One person, one account. Do not share an account, and do not create an account if you are under 13.
A subscription is tied to the account that claimed it. If you subscribe on one account, that subscription cannot also be used on a second account, even on the same device. If you need it moved — a duplicate account, or one you have lost access to — email us and we will sort it.
One book is available in full, with audio, to everyone each day. Which book it is changes daily and is not chosen by you. We may change or withdraw this at any time; it is not part of what a subscription buys.
Highlights you save are for your own use. Quoting a line to a friend is fine; republishing summaries is not.
The library changes — titles are added and occasionally removed, so we cannot promise any particular book will stay available. We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time; email [email protected]. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, particularly for redistributing content.
Summaries are provided for general information. They are not professional, medical, legal or financial advice, and you should not rely on them as such. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will note it in the app's release notes and update the date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
